The term TFF stands for 접선흐름여과, meaning a process where the liquid flows not only through the membrane, as in classical filtration, but also tangentially across it.
Diafiltration refers to performing a buffer exchange during a TFF process, typically within an ultrafiltration 어플리케이션. A typical UF | DF workflow consists of an initial concentration step (UF1), followed by diafiltration (DF), and a final concentration step (UF2).
During the development of a TFF filtration step, it is important to select the appropriate membrane cut-off and optimize key operating parameters such as TMP and turbulent flow over the membrane.
